DO YOU RUN WITH THE PAK?
Wolfpak Tackle pro Gary Emery makes yet another top 10 in the Everstart Central division.

July 24, 2011

Wolfpak Tackle pro Gary Emery has yet made another move up the co-angler point standings with a 7th place finish at the Detroit River.  This great showing by Gary is coming on the heels of another top ten finish at Kentucky Lake back in March.  Gary has now moved up to 2nd place in the co-angler point standings in the Everstart Central division.  Gary definitely has positioned himself perfectly to compete for co-angler of the year going into the last event on 10/6-10/8 at Table Rock.

After his top ten at the Detroit RIver, we had a chance to sit down with Gary and discuss some keys to his success this year as a co-angler.

Q - Gary, you've had a great year and are in 2nd in the Everstart Central points race with just one event remaining.  What would you say have been a couple of keys to your success this year?

A -I would say that a key factor to my success this year has been patience and good decision making.  I've been fortunate this year with making the right bait decisions based on what is given to me from the back of the boat.

Q -  Obviously being versatile is a key to co-angler success on tour.  How does a jig and shaky head play into your versatility as a co-angler?

A - Versatlity is a big factor in tournament fishing and a Wolfpak shakey head allows me the confidence I need to fish on the heavily pressured lakes that we have visited this year.  The Wolfpak jigs allow me to fish knowing that the next bite could be the one I need.

Q - What are you favorite Wolfpak jig colors and why?

A - I would have to say my favorite color is Wildkat Blood (green pumpkin). You really can't go wrong throwing it - it closely resembles the crawfish that the fish are constantly feeding on, but with that said, I will not hesitate switching to Barkley Beast (black/blue) when water clarity is minimal.

Q - What can we expect to see from you in 2012?

A - As far as my plans for 2012, I'm undecided as to what my next move will be.  We will just wait and see how this year ends up and see what the future holds.  But I'm sure it will involve having a rod and reel in hand as often as possible!!
